Congratulations to Michele Owens-Reider whose mare, Fleur d'Amour had a grey colt with a star, strip and 4 socks.  This is Klint's first warmblood cross baby - Fleur d'Amour is by the German Holsteiner stallion Carlos+* and out of the Grand Prix jumper mare, Fleur de Guerre.  This is going to be one athletic colt!

Congratulations to Beth Thomas whose mare Affinity by Elaborat produced a bay filly with star and hind sock.  Affinity was super protective of her new Klint filly for several days, but now has settled down and is letting Beth share in the fun of having a baby!

Congratulations again to Ken Deamer whose mare, Topo Fatas Misty, had a black colt with a blaze and 3 socks.  Misty's dam, Qatama Naffata had a black Klint filly with a star just four days earlier on 6/1....talk about keeping it in the family!

4/29

Congratulations to Gene Rurka, proud owner of a bay  filly with star and 4 socks out of his GG Jabask granddaughter, Eliron Anesette.  "Annie" was a maiden 18 year old when she first met Klint and produced a lovely grey filly.  After a year off, Gene rebred her to Klint to produce this filly.... not bad for a 20 year old mare!

4/26

Just got a call from Ken Deamer.  His mare Dar Cherie (a Bask Knight granddaughter) had a black filly with a star and pencil snip.  His trainer says she's the best foal Ken's ever bred!

Another Klint Black filly born April 26 out of BF Moon Fyre, owned by Rebecca Jacobs.

Easy birth, strong gorgeous filly!  To be named BF Fyres Kyss

Congratulations to Linda Zenor, proud breeder of a new bay Klint colt out of her 3/4 Spanish-bred mare,    S S Maramano by QB Hermano out of an An Magno daughter.  This foal is the result of the breeding that I donated to the ablackhorse.com Sport Horse Online Auction to benefit the 06 Arabian Sport Horse Nationals.

Congratulations to Robin Schnader, proud owner and breeder of a black (maybe grey?) colt born on Friday the 13th.  His mom, TR MIKIMOTO  is by Legacy of Gold out of a *Retador daughter, so this is Klint's first Spanish related foal - and he's a knockout with a seahorse head and the "family" curly ears, Klint's star, front socks and hind partial sock.  Robin had a bit of an obstacle course between her foaling barn and turnout area, so of course, Grandma Sue said all that stuff had to go!  Got this note from Robin:
We got all the junk cleared away from the shed yesterday (Thanks to you) Takes a bomb to get my husband in gear, so the wrath of Sue worked.  Miki and baby were free to run in the arena for awhile and had fun.  I continue to do the Clinton [Anderson] thing with him too.  Vet says he is really cute and passed all tests with flying colors!  I'll send pix soon.  Robin

Congratulations to John and Amy Gilbreath of Fort Hill, PA on the arrival of not one but two Klint foals this week.  Last year both of their mares cycled at the same time so these babies are from the same "batch" even though they were born several days apart.  The first to arrive was a black filly with a star out of Markella Rose by Mark of Fame.  Blacks are born a silvery grey color and it took some convincing before John and Amy realized they had a black out of their bay mare.  They're thinking of naming her "Rose Velvet Black"....here's what Amy said after her first time out.

Took some pictures today of Her, Velvet.  She is absolutely gorgeous!  She floats as she prances and does she prance! She is so inquisitive and bold.

John and Amy call all of their horses "it" instead of "he" or "she"...so of course after the filly was born and they kept calling her "it" I explained to them that I expected more reverence for Klint foals and from now on they had to refer to her as well, "her"!  So when the next foal was born - a black colt with a star, front stockings and hind socks out of Aerozetta - Amy not only called him "he" but capitalized it each time!

The foal is big for her first one.  HE, checked out fine.  It sure is nice to know that we are not just proud grandparents,( and make even ugly babies pretty) but our pride is warranted...our vet stopped in his tracks and said (THAT'S A BEAUTIFUL FOAL!) Getting that out of him really means something.  He doesn't say much!    He couldn't believe how dark and shinny HE is.  You don't think HE is gray do you?  HE has silver legs!  !(This guy is by a black and out of a black....NO chance for grey!!! S.)  HE is at least 2 shades darker than Velvet. And filled out like several weeks old.  The vet remarked about it.  He said HE was going to be quite athletic.
