                        2008 Babies!!!

August 2008

An update from Leslie Johns and Shah-nia ...

Hi Sue!!! Great to hear from you!!!!

Shah-nia is PERFECT…do Klint’s babies come out pre-trained? This little girl does everything like she’s done it a thousand times! Tying, clipping, farrier…all of these things seem like second nature to her.  I will definitely get more pics of her, now that my parents are in town to help me juggle the camera/posing duties! She is ENORMOUS! Taller than my trainer’s NSH babies that were born 3 weeks before she was. Yet she is still so refined with the most beautiful face that you can imagine. And she much prefers people to her boring old mom. I had an open house/barn last month (to show off my new place and new baby!) and she spent the whole time with her face in everyone’s arms, ignoring her mom altogether. I just love her to pieces!

Leslie has Shah-nia's dam Shah-nel available for sale.  Shah-nel is in foal to Brazilian National Champion Stallion *Marzyan.  Leslie also has her "former farm" for sale: 10 acre facility, arena, ranch home, 16 stalls, heated tack/viewing room.

 This update from Jamie Leach:

Khalipseh is nearly as big as her mommy now! She’s going to have some good size to her, she’s very smart and is SO easy to work with.

I’ve been talking to a girl at the barn where I work who has arabs looking for a halter trainer. Maybe this time next year, we’ll have her in the halter ring…

I got news that her paperwork went through – she’s officially “Idelle Khalipseh”….more pictures to come, the last one, she was standing on a hill and had a growing spurt in her hind end!

Klint's first pinto colt now has a name:

Hiya Sue,
Don't have any new pictures for you just yet although the little guy is now going out to graze for about an hour each evening to get some exercise. He's filling out very nicely !!!
In the meantime ; my Wife blurted out a name  when we visited him last night and he came right over to her soooo ... I thought I'd pounce so to speak.
Just got off the phone with both the Arabian Horse Assoc. and the Pinto Horse Assoc. ( he'll be dual registered ) and if we " tweak " the name she blurted out a tad we can have what she really wants.
Therefore ; your Grandson's name will officially be   LC's Prince Charming   -  Prince for short. She wanted Prince Charming but, since it was being used,  this works just fine  It certainly fits !!!

July 16

Klint's last 08 foal was born in New Jersey to proud owners Mike and Laura Cumberton and mama "Splash"  -  Doc's Dandy Dilemma (Docs Hunk of Gold  X  Dandys Foxfire).  This is Klint's first pinto foal and his owners couldn't be more thrilled.  More pictures to follow as he unfolds....

Congratulations to Aimee Swistak whose mare Sweet Karolin (Kopernicus X Sweet Salin) had a bay colt on Friday.  According to Aimee,  He is just adorable, very, very friendly and curious. He is doing really well.  He has been outside exploring with mom.  . He likes being with people instead of mom.

Congratulations to David and Charlotte Caldwell of Culpeper VA.  Last year they bred two of their LD Navarre (by Padrons Psyche) daughters to Klint.  Mystic Bouquet MH had a bay colt with a star and 4 socks on 5/13 and Mystics Perfect I had a black filly with a star and front sock on 5/18/08.  Hopefully pictures will follow soon!

One more time we interrupt this page for a Klint grandbaby. This one looks like a Klint baby, though!  Meet Dark N Mello  from the solid Paint perlino mare, Hollywood Cremella (Hollywood White X Brooklands Belle). Mel had a smoky black Klint filly last year and this cutie pie came a bit early on May 22 and looks like a grulla or dun  by the Klint Black++ son, Darkhist.   She's got the leg barring and dorsal stripe showing already.  We'll see if she keeps them!  Fancy girl either way.

Pictured here at only 5 days.... owned by Mary Haldeman, Mara Arabians, Manheim, PA

Congratulations to Karen Brown of Rockvale Tennessee whose mare BW Hooligan (Desperado V X Samirs Mariah) had a Klint-klone black colt 5/7/08:

A colt, born at 10:30 pm 05-07-08.  Both Mom & Colt are doing great, Hooli made it look easy and is being a super Mother. More pictures to follow but here are a couple shots and then it's off to bed for me!  I was stressed enough for all of us!

He's black with a star (as you can clearly see) with two matching front whites and a little white on the back left hind.  Long legs and very good size to him.

Karen's neighbor works with Clint Black and through him Karen sent me an autographed picture of Clint and a guitar pic from one of his concerts.... so I sent back an autographed picture of Klint and a hoof pick from the East Coast Show.  Lots of fun!

Congratulations to Leslie Johns of Bredwinner Farm in Cardington Ohio whose mare WR Shah-nel had a beautiful black bay filly May 6th:

Shah-nel foaled a BEAUTIFUL black/bay filly yesterday morning at 4:45 am! Everything went just great and mom and kidlet are doing wonderfully well! The little one has such a beautiful face and she is super friendly - nickers a welcome to me right along with her mom. I just adore her - I've already told my trainer that this one's a keeper :)

Please give Klint a congratulatory hug for me and thank him for this exquisite little creature. More pix to follow!

Leslie had this to add after I chided her for cutting off mom's head in the picture she sent:
You had me cracking up about cutting off the mare’s head in the photo. Hey! It’s all about the baby!

I am thrilled beyond words with this little gal! She is absolutely beautiful and very friendly – constantly in your face wanting her nose to be kissed. She must have some kind of charisma since my Mom and Dad (who live in North Carolina) called me the minute they got the pictures, exclaiming about how adorable she is. Believe me, I’ve put them thru years of baby pictures and there is only one other foal that caused such an impact – he’s my “lifer” (wouldn’t sell him for a million bucks) undefeated halter champion by Padrons Mahogany out of an *El Ghazi mare. Mom wants me to be sure and send pictures as often as possible until they can come up and see her in August. My trainer, Dan Whitt, is already asking me about my plans for this little one…heavens! Let’s wait till she passes the one week old mark before determining her performance career!

Her Mom is WR Shah-nel who is by Farlyns Shah Bey (Bey Shah) out of TA On Fire (Safire++). So…right now I’m leaning towards naming her Shah-nia Twain. Dan is a bit squeamish about it – he’s thinking about the repercussions of the announcer saying “Dan Whitt on Shah-nia Twain!”.  I told him that it would build his character.

Klint's first colt of 08 was born last night (May 1) ... and if you have to break the "filly run" this was a darn nice way to do it.  Congratulations to Pam Cates whose mare VA Gai Enjoley had a bay colt with star strip and snip and 4 socks.  Enjoley is a granddaughter of Ralvon Elijah and Gai Parada+++/.

"Well, Angelina had her baby and he is beautiful.  I think he will be a Bay with 4 white socks.  From looking at his shoulders, he should be quite a mover.  Angelina is an incredible mover along with Klint Black....this baby should have some action with his shoulder.  He has a wonderful face.  He has the best tipped ears I have seen in a while.  He is so big that he has been having difficulty trying to get low enough to get to eat (Momma is a little short for him)."

Exciting news!  Klint's "filly trend" is continuing!  I just got this picture from Kathy Towery of Corrales, New Mexico.  Her mare, Anoutof Cyte Romance by Out of Cyte, had an exquisite black filly with a star and 2 socks on 4/26.

From Kathy:
For "the Grammas":
She was born @ 9 PM last night (4/26)... no name yet...
(maybe BLACKMAGIC ROMANCEVery petite, looks like she has an absolutely perfect head.  Ana was AMAZING!   Did everything just right... I LOVE that mare!  Thank you Lois and Sue.
Mostly Thank You to our Heavenly Father for putting these beautiful creatures in my care.  I'll send more photos later.
Love to all,
KT.

Oh - a fun side note - Kathy signed her breeding contract last year on Valentine's Day!

what a face!                                        picture at right is at 2 weeks!

We interrupt this page to report  Klint's first Grandbaby was born April 7.  A tall, big boned palomino colt to first time mother, Quincys Got The Cue, a solid Paint palomino mare. He's by Darkhist (Klint Black++ X Windkhist). He's pictured here at 4 days and 3 weeks.

Congratulations to Jamie Leach of Clover SC.  She is the proud breeder of this darling Klint daughter.

"Born 3/29 at about 9:30 pm - a healthy dark bay (to grey) filly bearing very similar markings to dad (can we say he stamps his foals?)!
Many thanks to Diane Gibbs for providing me with the opportunity to lease such a fine mare: Pequest Gayiane by Fakher El Azad (Fakher El Din x Pequest Azad) out of Pequest Silva (Klassic Mahdi x Pequest Ani). This is her first foal and she's being a great mom.
"Idelle Khalipseh" is already showing off her athletic ability and
exploring the world. She's very curious and brave. I can't wait to start working with her! She's perfect!! "

This new picture is at about 3 months.... doin' the sport horse trot!

March 2008

Exciting news from Janelle Whiteman from Pataskala, Ohio.  Her mare Ireland had the first Klint baby of 08.

"This morning we have a beautiful, dark bay filly!  Irish Blessing arrived this morning at approx. 1:20 am EST.  Everything went smoothly and mama Ireland (Brace X Jstmy Imagination) had a relatively easy and quick delivery.  This morning both are bonding and resting and they are precious together; Ireland is a very proud and patient mom.

Baby has no white on her feet and only just a tiny star on her forehead.  She has a beautiful head, little tipped ears and long, long legs.

Sue, tell Klint that he has a new daughter!"

another of Irish Blessing at about 2 weeks above right. Just beautiful!

new pics at almost 4 months..... wow!
